The police of Kyiv region detained a group of stalkers in the Chornobyl exclusion zone, Kyiv region. The respective message appeared on the website of the regional branch of the National Police

'A group of nine stalkers aged from 21 to 43, including one woman, was detected near the abandoned village of Zalissya. The citizens illegally infiltrated the territory of the zone for extreme tourism,' the post reads.

The police added it was the largest number of stalkers detained in the area over a while.

The administrative case was opened against the stalkers, as they breached the radiation safety regime in the area that suffered radioactive contamination as foreseen by Ukraine's Code of administrative violations. 

As the perpetrators illegally infiltrated the area, they may face from 20 to 30 tax-free minimum incomes. The court of Ivankiv district, Kyiv region is now looking into the case materials.
