In the province of Idlib in Syria, nine civilians were killed and another 20 were injured due to nighttime air strikes by troops of Bashar al-Assad and his Russian allies. This was reported by the White Helmets civil defense agency, as cited by Anadolu.

"Three children were victims of an attack on several villages in the Maarat al-Numan region in southern Idlib, including Al-Tamanah, Tell-Mannas, Maar Shimmarin and Al-Fakhi," the statement said.

The war in Syria began in March 2011, when peaceful protest demonstrations escalated into armed conflict after the military opened fire on the demonstrators.
