"Three children were victims of an attack on several villages in the Maarat al-Numan region in southern Idlib, including Al-Tamanah, Tell-Mannas, Maar Shimmarin and Al-Fakhi," the statement said.
The war in Syria began in March 2011, when peaceful protest demonstrations escalated into armed conflict after the military opened fire on the demonstrators.
At the negotiations on September 17, 2018, in Sochi, the presidents of Turkey and Russia agreed to create a demilitarized zone in Syrian Idlib and introduce a ceasefire.
The Assad government violated these agreements by trying to develop an offensive in the de-escalation zone.
"About 20 peaceful residents, including 13 children and one woman, were killed due to the military aircraft strike, performed by the Syrian regime, Russian warplanes, as well as a ground attack," reads the message.
The airstrike occurred in the de-escalation zone.
