The number of roadway sections in Ukraine where the traffic is controlled by new TruCAM devices will grow. Oleksiy Biloshytsky, the first deputy head of the Department of Patrol Police posted that on Facebook.
"17 new sections are added and eight active ones (those with the increased rate of road accidents) are extended, for further control of speed regime with the use of TruCAM laser speed detectors", he wrote.
According to him, Ukraine's patrol police officers have documented more than 300,000 road traffic violations since October 2018, when the devices were first imposed in Ukraine.
TruCam devices were brought back to Ukraine in October 2018, after four years-long absence.
The device is created by NASA specialists; it allows measuring the speed by the means of a laser ray within the range of 1,200 meters. The working speed is 3 photo frames per second. It is equipped with GPS system, that is, it can spot the actual coordinates.
