New case of anthrax spotted in Ukraine's Odesa region

In Saratsky district, Odesa region, a new case of anthrax was spotted as Saratsky Regional State Administration reported to Ukrinform.

"The owner of the farm in Mykolaivka-Novorosiiska village spotted the signs of the disease of a cow that "fell on its feet," so he appealed to the specialists. The workers of the animal health area urgently arrived at the site and confirmed the presence of the anthrax causative agent. Any person suffered. The measures on the localization of the outbreak were assumed," the message said.

It is noted that the specialists disinfected the room and yard where the ill animal was contained.

The quarantine is imposed in the village. It means the ban for the removal of the meat and milk from this village. Moreover, other measures on the localization of anthrax outbreak were assumed.

Earlier we reported that a spell of anthrax was observed in a village in Saratsky district, Odesa region. According to preliminary data, the source of the disease was a domestic cow, slaughtered for meat. Five people who skinned her suffered the symptoms and were taken to hospitals. Their lives were beyond danger.

Recently, a three-year-old boy died due to measles in Lviv regional infectious hospital. The boy lived in Zhovkivsky district, Lviv region and was hospitalized two weeks ago. The disease caused the complication in the form of the inflammation in the brain (encephalitis). The doctors could not save the child.
