For the first time in history, Netflix is ​​shooting one of its films in Ukraine. It will be a comedy action movie called "The Last Mercenary", which will tell a story about political intrigue at the state level. Jean-Claude Van Damme and Alban Ivanov are on the list of actors.

This was announced by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko, who published a photo with Van Dam on his Telegram-channel.

The lion's share of filming will take place in Kyiv. Paris will also host the production. According to Tkachenko, the filming has already started and will continue until this fall.

It will be directed by David Charhon. Among the producers are Vladyslav Riashyn, Jean-Charles Levy, and Olias Barco.

As we reported earlier, Ukrainian film "Weightlifter", directed by Dmytro Sukholitky-Sobchuk, was been released online on July 6.

"Weightlifter" was created in a co-production of Ukraine and Poland. This is Sukholitky-Sobchuk's debut short film, which tells the story of the price of victory in professional sports. The picture shows the life of a weightlifter who is preparing for an important competition.
