About a half of the Earth’s population either cannot afford basic medical services or live in poverty due to paying for them. The World Health Organization and the World Bank released a joint report on the issue.

The document says that about 800 million people worldwide spend at least 10 percent of their family budget on treatment and related medical procedures. 100 million of those only have about 2 dollars per day, having covered all expenses on medical services.

The World Health Organization and the World Bank called such situation unacceptable.
