President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda decided to delay his visit to Ukraine because of the spreading Chinese coronavirus. Press secretary of the official Antanas Bubnialis told this to the press as quoted by Delfi.
"The visit was scheduled for March 18-20", he said.
Besides, the President is also supposed to decide whether he would join the working session of the European Council in Brussels in late March.
Nauseda also wanted to visit the king of Belgium; but it remains uncertain whether the meeting will take place.
Earlier, President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili canceled her visit to Kyiv for the same reason.
As we reported, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry persistently urges citizens to refrain from traveling abroad. The press office of the authority reported that on Thursday, March 12.
"This, first of all, concerns the People's Republic of China, Republic of Korea, Japan, as well as (...) tourist destinations that are popular among Ukrainians - specifically, the Italian Republic, Kingdom of Spain, the French Republic, the Republic of Greece, the Federal Republic of Germany, Egypt, the UAE, the Republic of Turkey, the Kingdom of Thailand, Israeli state and others", reads the message.
Those who are now staying abroad - in the countries where the cases of Covid-19 are registered, are required to show maximum awareness and cautiousness. The Ministry calls on the citizens to abide by the requirements of the local authorities, avoid visiting the dangerous areas and report on their whereabouts to the closest diplomatic institution of Ukraine.
