NSDC Deputy Secretary Serhiy Kryvonis asked the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky not to sign the State Defense Order and send it for revision.  He wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“Yesterday at the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, two extremely important issues were considered: adoption of the National Security and Defense Strategy, as well as the State Defense Order. Our independence and independence depend on these two strategic documents. In my opinion, it was necessary to tell the media and the public in more detail  that we will have for the state after their adoption," - it was informed.

He noted that the National Security Strategy of Ukraine is the main document of defense planning, that is, it is the basis for planning the activities of state authorities in the field of national security.

“As for the State Defense Order. Its coverage was incomprehensible. What I saw and know caused me outrage and misunderstanding of the proposed solutions. Based on my experience, I ask the president not to sign it, but to send it for revision,” - the NSDC deputy secretary added.

According to him, this document raises questions for the competence of managers and those responsible for its preparation.

“Adopting it in this form will lead to the disruption of key defense programs and initiatives, which in the future can lead to weakening of our defense capability instead of building up. The most important thing is the missile program. It interests the Russians. We are for the development of the program, and they are for phasing out. For  these are our missiles, like a bone in the throat. For the previous years, the missile program was a priority. Today I haven’t heard that," - Kryvonis explained.
