National police to create task group against trade of illegal weapons and ammunition

The decision is connected with the incident in Dnipro when five police officers were wounded

The National Police of Ukraine intends to create the task group against the illegal trade of weapons and ammunition. The issue was discussed by Sergy Kniazev, the chairman of the police, Vyacheslav Abroskin, the first deputy and Mykola Balan, deputy commander of the National Guard as the press service of the National Police in Donetsk region reported.

'The National Police recorded 7 000 crimes connected with the illegal trade of the weapons since the beginning of 2017 and 2 000 of them took place in October', Abroskin noted.

This decision is connected with the incident in Dnipro when five police officers were wounded during the attempt to detain the burglars. It is planned that the task group will include the representatives of all region departments of the National Police of the Eastern part of Ukraine to create the efficient blocking of the channels of the weapons' trade.

Also, Mykola Balan noted that the National Guard intends to cooperate with the police on this issue.
