Naftogaz is ready to withdraw the claims against Gazprom in a new arbitration, if a long-term transit contract is concluded that will cover all expenses. The executive director of NAK Naftogaz-Ukraine Yuriy Vitrenko said on Facebook.
“We are also ready to withdraw our claims in the new arbitration, but only if a long-term transit contract is signed that will cover all costs, and if Naftogaz is compensated for Gazprom’s default on current contracts,” - Vitrenko wrote.
Naftogaz is ready to consider the possibility of receiving gas from Gazprom by repaying a debt ($ 3 billion) by a decision of the past Stockholm arbitration.
Vitrenko noted that they are ready to return to trilateral negotiations and "tell the Europeans how they discussed these issues in good faith."
As we reported, Ukraine is implementing the European method for calculating gas transit rates. It guarantees that this transit will be economically viable for Ukrainian, European and Russian parties.
