The soundtrack to David Dobkin's movie Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga, in the recording of which Jamala participated, is nominated for the 2021 Grammy Awards.
Jamala has recorded her vocals for a medley featuring the winners and the brightest participants of the Eurovision Song Contest in recent years.
The film has been nominated in the "Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media" category.
It’s a prestigious category, with the three most recent winners being A Star Is Born, The Greatest Showman, and La La Land. So, Fire Saga is up against some fierce competition.
The headline nominee is Disney’s Frozen 2. The other nominees are Jojo Rabbit, A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood and Bill & Ted Face The Music.
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga premiered on June 26 on the streaming platform Netflix. Jamala not only took part in soundtrack but also played herself in one of the episodes of the film. The shooting of the scene with Jamala took place at the famous 15th century Knebworth House Castle in the English county of Hertfordshire. The interiors of the castle have already appeared on the screen many times, in particular, episodes of such films as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and The King Speaks.
The Eurovision Movie’s fate will become known on 31 January 2021, when the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony is set to take place.
As we reported earlier, the organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest decided to keep the results of the draw for the semifinals held for the 2020 competition, which was canceled due to coronavirus, in force. There will be no new draw, scheduled for January 2021.
