The mothers of convicted in Russia Ukrainian Stanislav Klykh and detained near Luhansk Russian Viktor Ageev pleaded the presidents of Russia and Ukraine to pardon their sons and release them, as Novaya gazeta informs.
“We are the mothers of our children Stanislav Klykh and Viktor Ageev. With the greatest respect towards our governments, of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, we plead and beg you to release and pardon our children, who are in captivity, and, like Stanislav, in prison, where he has spent the last three years,” Tamara Klykh said.
She says she hasn’t heard anything about her son in the last six months.
“I would like you, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, and our Ukrainian president, Petro Oleksiyovych Poroshenko, to solve this issue. I believe, it’s in your power to do this: send our children back home, pardon them and stop the war,” Klykh added.
Svetlana Ageeva phrased her agreement and called for the war’s end.
“Vladimir Vladimirovich, we believe it’s in your power to help us! And from me personally, as a human being, I would like to say it’s time to stop this war that separated our nations. This grief, it unites our mothers’ hearts. And we are together! We address you again, please, hear us , help us in our grief and help all the people in Russia and Ukraine understand each other and be together again! It’s a very sincere plea. We can’t live like this any longer. We wholeheartedly hope you will hear us and help us,” Ageev’s mother pleaded.
As it was reported earlier, Stanislav Klykh was detained in Russia in September 2014, and found guilty of Chechen war crimes. The latest information Ukraine received about him is that he was convoyed to another Russian prison this March.
Viktor Ageev was detained in Donbas and he confirmed that he is the military of the Russian Armed Forces. At the moment Ageev is detained at the Starobelsk detention center. His mother came to Ukraine and was allowed a meeting with her son.
