Most of the Ukrainian citizens support the idea of peaceful regulation of the Donbas conflict. The SCORE Index of Social Unity and Reconciliation, Ukraine-based think-tank, released the results of their survey; Ukraine’s Ministry for Temporarily Occupied Areas and IDPs re-posted that on their website.
The survey was conducted for the sake of better understanding of the social dynamics, which is the groundwork of the ongoing conflict. The nation-wide research was conducted throughout 2016 in all regions of the country, even in the occupied areas, except the Russian-occupied Crimea.
‘The peaceful negotiations are supported in all regions of Ukraine; we offered people to define the level of their support of this idea on the scale from 1 to 10. The results prove that most of the people in various regions mainly support this peaceful option,’ reads the explanatory note, applied to the published survey.
