One of the most outstanding Ukrainians of modern times Bogdan Hawrylyshyn passed away. Worldly known economist celebrated his 90th anniversary on October 19, and on October 24 he was gone. Hawrylyshyn died in his apartment in Kyiv, surrounded by his family.

Hawrylyshyn is an author of over 100 articles on the problems of management in the field of management education. He wrote the book "Pointers in the future. For more efficient societies" (1980) and "I remain a Ukrainian" (2011). The first book has gained international recognition and was published in translation in eight languages.

He –is the Honored Scientist of Ukraine, was elected a foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Hawrylyshyn was awarded with the Order "For Merit".

Three days before his death the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has awarded Hawrylyshyn with the Order of Freedom.
