The mortality has exceeded the birth rate almost twice in Ukraine during January-September 2018, as the press service of the State Statistics Service reported.
According to the information, there are 59 live-born children to 100 deceased.
It is reported that as of October 1, 2018, the population of Ukraine made 42,222,000 persons and it decreased by 165,600 people during nine months of 2018.
Earlier it was reported that the top 10 countries with the fastest shrinking populations are all in Eastern Europe (with a few in Central and Northern Europe), according to UN projections. Bulgaria, Latvia, Moldova, Ukraine, Croatia, Lithuania, Romania, Serbia, Poland, Hungary, might see their population shrink by 15% or more by 2050. Ukraine’s population will reduce to 36.42 million people by 2050.
Besides, almost 46% of the world population or 3,4 billion people live on $5,5 per day. Earlier it was reported that the poverty rate decreased by 12% in Ukraine in 2017 according to Kyiv International Sociology University.
