In Russia, the number of citizens with coronavirus exceeded 520,000 people, as Reuters reports, citing data from Russian State Statistics Service.
On June 13, 8,706 new patients with Covid-19 were registered in the country.
Russia, with 520,129 infected, ranks third in the world after the United States and Brazil in terms of the incidence of coronavirus. The official number of deaths in the country is 6,829 people, which is much lower than in other countries seriously affected by the epidemic.
The Kremlin has denied any problems with its official data. However, the World Health Organization (WHO) stated that the low mortality rate in Russia is “hard to understand.”
The Moscow Department of Health this week corrected death data for May, citing changes in the way people determine the cause of death for patients suffering from other health problems.
At a briefing on Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that statistics on the number of deaths may have to be reviewed.
As we reported before, in Ukraine, as of the morning of June 13, the number of Covid-19 coronavirus infected increased to 30 thousand 506 (+753 per day)
