During a month of use the TruCam surveillance systems, more than 5,000 violations of the traffic rules were spotted. Oleksiy Biloshytsky, First Deputy Head of Patrol Police Department, made such statement as Delo.ua reported.
"At the moment, more than 5,000 violations are spotted. While the patrol police have been working in the pilot mode for a week. But our goal is to not issue as many regulations as possible but to prevent these violations. Generally, more work can be done but we do this openly to decrease the speed and prevent the possible car accidents with serious consequences," he claimed.
Reportedly, since October 8, the Ukrainian police have been monitoring the road traffic in Kyiv and in many regions across the country, using the TruCam surveillance systems.
The TruCam devices were set next to the road signs warning of photo and video recording of safety violations, on the certain sections of international highways and in the cities where the high level of road accident hazard is observed. Service transport vehicles with blue flash beacons will be there, too.
