As of January 2021, 52% of Ukrainians were immune to coronavirus infection. This was reported by a team of experts from the Sinevo laboratory after analyzing the results of the population's testing for IgG antibodies to Covid-19, Interfax reports.

It is noted that more than 140,000 people were tested for antibodies from May 2020 to January 2021.

"According to the results of testing in January 2021, the number of clients with immunity to Covid-19 ranges from 44% to 60%, depending on the region. At the same time, the percentage of clients with a positive immunity test was 33% in October 2020, and in July - 9%," reads the message.

As we reported earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated that the vaccines against coronavirus might be needed ‘for years.’

"It's similar to the flu vaccine, where you re-vaccinate against the new mutation of the virus every time," she said.

The official drew such conclusions after the meeting with heads of federated states, representatives of the European Commission, and pharmaceutical companies.
