Every day in Ukraine, more than 100 law enforcement officers are diagnosed with coronavirus infection. So, over the past day, the diagnosis of Covid-19 was confirmed among 98 law enforcement officers. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that.
"During the pandemic, law enforcement officers, like doctors, were at the forefront of the fight against coronavirus infection. In addition to ensuring quarantine measures, they continue to carry out their daily work. Every day, more than 100 police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are diagnosed with Covid-19," Deputy Minister Anton Herashchenko said.
According to him, these are all those who directly worked on the streets, went to crime scenes, worked with citizens and had an increased likelihood of contracting Covid-19.
"Today, out of 345,000 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, more than 4,000 have been infected with coronavirus," Herashchenko said.
So, today, September 18, 98 new cases of coronavirus disease were registered among law enforcement officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The largest number of patients was recorded in the Volyn (13) and Kharkiv (8) regions, as well as in the city of Kyiv (15).
It is noted that since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,577 law enforcement officers have been infected with the coronavirus, 4,116 have been discharged, and 12 Interior Ministry employees have died.
