More than 10 thousand of people took part in the 25th Run under chestnuts, which took place in Kyiv on May 28 on the occasion of the City Day. This is stated on the official page in Facebook, by the press service of the Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko.
"More than 10 thousand participants took part in the race, in total there are 5 races in the program: for the athletes, the run of the brave, the run of the smallest kids (6-14 months), the children's race and the charity run," the report says.
Run under chestnuts is the largest sport and charity event in Ukraine. It occurs annually, beginning from 1993. In recent years, funds collected during the race have been sent to purchase vital medical equipment for the Scientific and Practical Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
Earlier the 19th Megamarch of embroidered shirts took place in Kyiv, and about 400 people take part in it.
