Morbidity rate increased by almost 17% in Ukraine over the year

The morbidity rate in Ukraine exceeded the level of 2020 by 16.8%, in particular by 34.4% in March. The State Statistics Service reported this.

"During January-March 2021, the population decreased by 100,400 people. There remains a significant excess of the number of deaths over the number of live births: 39 live births per 100 deaths," the statement said.

A total of 174,050 people have died in Ukraine since the beginning of the year. This is 24,986 more deaths than in January-March 2020 when 149,064 people died. In particular, 64,938 people died in March (48,326 - died in March 2020).

Since the beginning of 2021, 67,514 people have been born in Ukraine (70,494 - last year), the migration gain is 6,142 people (6,773 - last year).

The number of the current population was 41,488,0 people in Ukraine on April 1, 2021, according to estimates.
