Monument to Ilya Muromets opened in Kyiv

The monument to the hero of Kievan Rus Ilya Muromets was opened today, on August 2 in the park Murometsk on Trukhaniv Island in Kyiv as the park reported on Facebook.

"In the park Muromets, the monument to Ilya Muromets was opened. It was made according to the project of the winners of the architectural competition," the message said.

The monument was made by young talented sculptor Volodymyr Zhurave. Vasyl Virastyuk was a model for Ilya Muromets.

The parts for the forms of the sculpture, later poured with the bronze, were made with the help of the 3-D printer.

The height of the monument is 11 meters together with the granite hill and base.

As it was reported earlier, the first smart-tree was opened in Kyiv, as the Director of the Information and Communication Technology Department reported. According to him, the main idea of this event is the presentation of the alternative energy sources sector, which provides various free services for the visitors through the self-contained kit of solar trackers in the stylized tree shape.

It is noted that the smart-tree will be working 24 hours without weekends. With the tree, one can charge the devices, gyro scooters, use free Wi-Fi or listen to music from the phone through the dynamics.
