The EU will assume the number of steps to protect the freedom of press in Ukraine as Frederica Mogherini, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs stated.
“I would like to say a few words that we assume the actions to protect the minorities in Ukraine and the freedom of the press, which is the part of our constant work with different institutions of Ukraine and civilian society,” she said.
Mogherini noted that the issues raised by the MEPs got close attention.
“And to guarantee you that all your comments, offers on different topics and issues on the support of the reformation processes in Ukraine or Minsk Agreements, settlement of the conflict, I state that they will be mentioned in our talks with 28 ministries of states-members of the UN on Monday. Generally, with Ukrainian colleagues as the foreign minister joined us,” she stated.
Besides, Mogherini thanked the MEPs for interaction in different issues concerning not only Ukraine but also the defense and security of other states as her cadency comes to the end.
Earlier MEP Nathan Gill accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in terms of attempts to exercise control over the media who do not support his interests.
112 Ukraine, Zik and NewsOne TV channels ceased broadcasting for 30 minutes. The action, as the media workers said, is a response to the attempts of Ukrainian authorities to suppress freedom of speech.
