Minsk protests again: 20 people already detained

Security forces are not armed and warn that the actions was not authorized

Protest action in Minsk continues. People gathered against yesterday’s detentions. Police has already detained 20 people. This was reported by Minsk correspondent Inna Kardash on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"Another protest action started in Minsk about 30 minutes ago. Just in 5 minutes after the rally started people and OMON officers started coming, luckily they were not armed. As yesterday, they had no shields. However, they warned people that the action was not authorized. At first glance, there are about 20 detained people," correspondent informed.

Human rights defenders also commented on yesterday’s events, claiming up to 1 thousand people could have been detained during protests.

Belarus celebrated "Freedom Day" yesterday, March 25. Planned events were replaced by mass detentions. It was reported about arrests of hundreds of people as well as 57 human rights defenders and volunteers. Later they were released, four of them appeared to have Ukrainian residence permit.
