The Ministry of Internal Affairs is increasing its presence in the water area of the Azov Sea. This was reported by Interior Minister Arsen Avakov during the anouncement of establishing diving search and rescue operations division in the Sea of Azov in Donetsk region, according to the Department of Communications of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"The Russian Federation, having occupied Crimea and part of Donbas, continues to attack our sovereignty, including within the water area of the Sea of Azov, which is why we are increasing the presence of Interior Ministry units, namely the State Emergency Service and the State Border Service there," he said.
According to the minister, for this purpose a division of diving search and rescue operations was established. It is equipped with four boats, 54 people will work there.
In addition, the Ministry of Interior will send two boats for the Mariupol Maritime Detachment of the State Border Service.
Earlier President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced the prevention of a large number of terrorist acts by the law enforcers. He said this during a speech on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the National Academy of Legal Sciences in Kharkiv, which was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"I can now announce closed statistics that the Security Service, the Prosecutor's Office and other law enforcement agencies have stopped preparations for a large number of terrorist acts," he said.
According to the president, it is, in particular, the preparation of explosions at ships, in places of mass congestion of citizens and enterprises of the defense complex.
In addition, Poroshenko emphasized that 18% of such terrorist attacks were planned in the Kharkiv region.
