Coronavirus infected resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region was self-medicating too long and consulted doctors late

The fifth fatal case of coronavirus disease has been registered in Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Health's press service on its Telegram channel.

"A woman died today in the Ivano-Frankivsk region who, together with her husband, was admitted to hospital on March 23, with suspicion of coronavirus infection," the report reads.

It is noted that a citizen infected with a coronavirus was self-medicating too long and consulted doctors late. She died a day after being hospitalized. COVID-19 infection was laboratory confirmed after the woman deceased.

As of 22:00, on March 25, there were 145 officially confirmed cases of Covid-19 infection in Ukraine. 32 new cases were detected during the day.

As we reported earlier, on March 23, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has expanded the rights of medical institutions in relation to patients with symptoms of Covid-19

A relevant government decree provides that healthcare institutions are entitled to compulsory medical examinations of people with symptoms of coronavirus and contacts, even if they refuse.
