Ministry of Health of Ukraine says that despite the outbreak of hepatitis A in Mykolaiv region, there’s no epidemics of the disease in Ukraine, according to their press service on Facebook.

“An outbreak of virus hepatitis A was recorded in Ukraine. But there’s no epidemic,” it’s said.

It is also noted that over the 11 months of 2017, 29 outbreaks of the virus were reported in Ukraine. These numbers don’t exceed the average. The health ministry noted that mostly the outbreaks occurred due to not following the prevention  measures and violating the anti-epidemic regime, and not following the proper hygiene regime by the ill persons.

According to the ministry, 47 people got sick with hepatitis A, six of them are children. Most of them were hospitalized, and 35 people remain in-patients.
