Ministry of Defense of Ukraine does not plan to refuse the draft for military service. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Defense Oleksandr Polischuk as he attended the meeting of the Parliament committee on the national security, Interfax reports.
“We do not have plans yet to reject the draft,” Polischuk said.
He also noted that the Ministry of Defense will try to conduct an experiment, the subject of which will be the provision of opportunities for volunteers to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the age of 18.
In addition, in 2020, despite legislative norms, conscription for military service will be carried out on a voluntary basis.
As we reported before, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Zahorodniuk andhis Romanian counterpart Nicolae Ionel Ciucă discussed cooperation in the context of the security of the Black Sea region.
Among the vital areas of cooperation is the upcoming signing of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Romania on military-technical cooperation, as well as the exchange of information on the air and maritime security situation.
