Minister of Health of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov said that the situation with Covid-19 is deteriorating significantly. Over the past day, an anti-record was set in the country regarding the death toll from coronavirus. Stepanov said during a briefing.

"The situation with the spread of Covid-19 in Ukraine is worsening. We are still facing a very difficult period. Today, an anti-record has been set for the number of deaths. For the first time in the country, the figure has stepped over 300 citizens who died because of Covid-19 in a day," he said.

The minister noted that the tense situation remains in Western Ukraine - in Zakarpattya, Ivano-Frankivsk regions. Also, a worsening situation is observed in the Vinnytsia, Mykolayiv, and Lviv regions.

We add that one of the most powerful oxygen stations in Ukraine, which is located in the Rivne region, can no longer withstand the loads due to the large number of Covid patients who need oxygen.

Earlier, Olga Golubovska, the leading infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Health, said that in Ukraine today, among all patients, severe and very severe forms of Covid-19 disease are critically prevalent.

Over the past day, 11,476 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1 565 732 people have already been infected with the coronavirus, 30 431 died (+333 per day), 1 268 886 (+8044) recovered.
