Workers of Batkivshchyna mine - one of the four mines in Kryvyi Rih where miners demanded higher salary - returned to the surface. Mykhailo Volynets, the head of Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine posted this on Facebook.
"A message came from Kryvyi Rih: protesters at Batkivshchyna mine came to surface - everyone of them. The miners handed over their lamps, their families meet them by the mine", Volynets wrote.
According to him, the protesters did not sign the memorandum with the mine's administration, which guaranteed that they would not be brought to responsibility by the officials. 24 miners of Zhovtneva mine remained under the ground to continue protesting.
On September 25, protesting miners from Ternivska and Hvardiyska came to surface, too. On September 26, administration of Kryvyi Rih iron ore plant reached consensus with miners, offering them to sign the mentioned memorandum. The administration also claimed that the claims of the mountraineers (higher salaries) will be met only after when all protesting miners return to surface.
