A rockslide killed a miner at the Zolote mine, which is located in Luhansk region. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

"Currently, one of the miners managed to get to the surface, the other one was found dead," the message says.

The law enforcers intiaited an investigation into the accident. Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 2 of Article 272 (violation of safety rules when performing work with increased danger).

Forensic expertise will help indicate the most likely reason why the tragedy took place.

As we reported earlier, a rockslide occurred in Luhansk region, as two miners ended up under the debris inside the coal mine.

The rockslide took place at about 11.40 p.m. Monday. The accident occurred at the Zolote coal mine that belongs to state-run enterprise Pervomaiskvuhillya. The miners were at the depth that exceeded 600 meters. The search and rescue service set up connection with one of the miners.

Also, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine additionally allocated almost 340 million UAH (12,7 million dollars) to repay debts to miners of state-owned mines.
