Mining accident took place in the Luhansk region as the Pryvilnanska mine of Lysychanskvyhillia PJSC collapsed. This was stated by chairman of the miners' union of Ukraine Mykhailo Volynets.
As a result of the collapse, a miner died, another one is injured.
"A colleague with numerous fractures was evacuated to the surface and taken to the hospital in Lysychansk," the report said.
Earlier we reported that the miners of unrecognized Luhansk People's Republic went on strike, demanding to pay them salaries. All this time they were underground, and subsequently went on a "bread and water" hunger strike. They put forward additional requirements, including the release of detained activists, as well as security guarantees from the unrecognized Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) to families and strikers.
"The strike of coal miners in the LPR has been running for almost a week, as they demand to pay off the debts in the salary. The strike takes place as the government applies pressure, capturing activists, imposing the lockdown in Antratsyt, where the coal works, and blocking VKontakte social network, which works badly, even in Luhansk, the capital city of LNR", the media wrote.
Oleksandr Vaskovsky, the co-chairman of the Independent Trade Union of Donbas Miners, said that whereabouts of 22 arrested workers of Antratsyt coal mine are now unknown; they are presumably kidnapped.
