Milove checkpoint on Ukraine-Russia border has been re-opened and is now working. So far, this is the only checkpoint in the region available for border crossing, Ukraine's Interior Ministry reported.
"This is an interstate border crossing for vehicles, that is, only citizens of Ukraine and the Russian Federation can cross the state border, only by a car. But, according to the decision of the government dating back to July 7, the opportunity of pedestrian crossing is there, too", reads the message.
Currently, Russia is in the red zone in the list of countries hit by Covid-19. Thus, citizens who enter the territory of Ukraine or Russia are obliged to stay indoors for an observation or self-isolation period of two weeks.
Foreign citizens and individuals without citizenship are allowed to enter Ukraine if they hold an insurance document that covers the expenses related to treatment of COVID-19. The document must be valid during the period of the stay of these people in Ukraine. In case such a document is absent, the Border Guards have the right not to let such people across the border.
