Due to the outbreak of coronavirus in China, the work of metallurgical plants may be suspended, which in turn will give Ukraine the opportunity to increase the export of metallurgical products. Minister of Economy Tymofiy Milovanov said so on the Freedom of Speech talk show on Ukraine TV channel.
"In fact, there are certain opportunities for Ukraine. I would even say ... Well, you can’t say that because our friends have an epidemic ... But the fact that they have stopped production, including this is important for us, because China perhaps will consume less metallurgy products. The main reason why the metallurgical industry has produced less this year is precisely because China produced more. That is the fact that now in some provinces those plants can stop, this makes it possible for us to increase it. The world will replace the production of these plants through the production elsewhere," Milovanov said.
The talk show host stopped the minister, noting that “it’s better not to say that because they will later quote somewhere in English,” meaning that this remark is extremely incorrect.
As we reported before, in China, as of February 15, the number of deaths from coronavirus amounted to 1,523 people. The China National Health Commission reports this information.
