The leader of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Alexander Zakharchenko claimed that Oplot intends to deal with a man who hit the NTV journalist. He reported this at Twitter.
‘The villain who hit the NTV journalist uselessly hid behind the names of Oplot and DPR. The members of Oplot decided to explain to him who to behave in the society’, Zakharchenko commented on the incident that took place yesterday in Moscow Gorky Park.
The awareness of Zacharchenko on the mood of Oplot members is explained by his direct relationship to Donetsk detachment of the organization. It was created in Kharkiv in 2010. Oplot captured the building of Donetsk City Council under the leadership of Zakharchenko in 2014.
The paratrooper got into the shot of the NTV camera and came to the journalist reporting about the intentions to capture Ukraine. Then, the journalist asked him to be silent and the men hit him in the jaw. He wore the T-shirt with the Oplot signature. Later it became known that this man did not serve in airborne forces.
