The militants, who were detained by Belarusian law enforcement agencies near Minsk on the night of July 29, turned out to be Russians of Wagner private military company (Wagner PMC). This was reported by Belta.
According to law enforcement agencies, they received information about the arrival of more than 200 militants in Belarus. Upon the arrival in Minsk, a group of men settled in one of the hotels with three large suitcases. On July 27, members of the PMC moved out of the hotel and moved to one of the sanatoriums in Minsk region.
The administration of the sanatorium reported that the visitors drew attention to the uncharacteristic behavior of Russian tourists and their monotonous clothing. In addition, the men did not drink alcohol and did not visit leisure activities.
It is reported that 200 mercenaries arrived in Belarus to destabilize the situation during the election campaign.
