Vitaliy Tkalenko, who threatened to blow up the Metro bridge in Kyiv on June 2, and was later arrested for 60 days, is now at a psychiatric institution. Press secretary of the Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv Nadiya Maksymets said this in a comment to Ukrainska Pravda.
"An emergency court hearing on changing the preventive measure was held yesterday, where they decided to change the preventive measure from detention to placement in a psychiatric institution," she said.
According to a previous court decision, Tkalenko was arrested until July 29, with the possibility of making a bail, and before making a bail he had to be in a pre-trial detention center.
However, in the pre-trial detention center, a paramedic examined Tkalenko and "discovered a suicidal tendency." After that, an ambulance was called to the pre-trial detention center, the doctors of which issued their opinion, according to which it is better for the suspect to be under medical supervision.
OM Friday, Tkalenko was placed in a psychiatric hospital in Hlevakha, where he will remain until July 29.
As we reported before, anonymous sources reported that Metro bridge had been mined in Kyiv: the bridge is closed at this moment.
