Wearing a medical mask has no negative impact on health. It was stated by the Deputy Minister of Health, Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Medical masks do not restrict the ingress of oxygen into the human body. Wearing a mask has no negative consequences for human health. All over the world, medical masks have been used by health workers for a long time," Lyashko said.
He added that the feeling of suffocation while wearing the mask is subjective, as studies show that blood oxygen saturation does not change from normal levels.
As it was reported earlier, 5,992 new cases of coronavirus have been observed in Ukraine over 24 hours.
Since the pandemic began in Ukraine, 287,231 citizens have been diagnosed with Covid-19. 5,394 of these people deceased (+92 per 24 hours), and 121,919 recovered (+2,269).
