As of Monday morning, 121 cases of measles infection were observed in the Ukrainian capital. According to Serhiy Chumak, the CEO at Kyiv City Laboratory Centre, most of them are children; in most cases, they have not been inoculated - in good time or at all.
'4,5,6 people get infected every day. 93 of the 121 that I mentioned are either not vaccinated or have no papers proving that they were inoculated. In ten cases, the patients violated the inoculation schedule,' he said.
Since the beginning of the year, over 1,200 people got infected with measles in Ukraine. Most of the cases are observed in western Ukraine, Odesa region (southern Ukraine) and Kyiv region. Eight people deceased, which is already twice more than the previous year's figure.
