Law enforcement authorities called for questioning of the mayor of Cherkasy Anatoly Bondarenko because of the premature mitigation of quarantine in the city. The lockdown was introduced earlier in connection with the spread of the coronavirus Covid-19. Bondarenko unveiled a photograph of the agenda on his Facebook page.

"New government, old methods," the mayor noted in the signature for the publication.

The summons says that on May 4, 2020, at 12:00, Bondarenko must appear in the office of the investigator of the National Police in the Cherkasy region to participate in the interview as a witness.

On April 30, the city authorities of Cherkasy significantly weakened quarantine, allowing from May 1 visits to parks and green areas, as well as the work of most stores.

As we reported before, the Minister of Health of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov arrived with a check in Cherkasy in connection with the decision of the city council to cancel quarantine measures.

According to Stepanov, he will visit four medical facilities with verification.
