In the north-central Iraq people have discovered a mass grave of the alleged Islamic state victims. In the graves of the presidential palace in Tikrit territory they found 89 dead bodies, according to DW.
As noted, the victims could be captured during the escape from a military base nearby in the middle of 2014, when the Islamic State has established control over much of the north and west of Iraq. Then the Islamists declared that executed about 1,700 soldiers of an unacceptable for them Shia Islam, while 800 Sunni soldiers allegedly were pardoned.
Let us remind, Tikrit was released from the ISIS forces in March 2015. During the investigation the Human Rights Watch organization found that the mass executions took place in the palace complex. After the expulsion of the ISIS in the city they have found several mass graves.
