The March of Equality will be held in Kyiv on June 18. It was reported by Ruslana Panuchnikh, director of KyivPride at a briefing in Kyiv on April 24.
‘The March of Equality is going to be a great human rights activity and will take place in the Kyiv center. We carry on an affective cooperation and communication with Kyiv authorities and the National Police’, Panuchnikh said.
The actual place of the march is still unknown. ‘The actual place and time of the march will be announced most likely on June 14’, the organizers of the event said.
The official also noted that they still discuss the actual place and route of the march. ‘This year, the route will be lengthened because we found that 750 meters-long route is too short. Moreover, we expect more people to take part in the march and we hope there will be twice more people than the previous time’, the director of the KyivPride commented. ‘This year, the march is going to be louder and have better slogans and messages. We plan a greater and more complex march scenario. We are going to use particular slogans that are common to the idea of the march: country for everyone’, Panuchnikh added.
It will be remarked that last year the march of equality started from the main building of the Taras Shevchenko National University and then the participants of the march walked down Volodymirska Street and Lva Tolstogo Square (all in the downtown Kyiv, - 112 International).
