A map of Europe, on which each country is represented by a certain masterpiece, connected to country’s culture appeared in the network. The map was posted on the Reddit site by the user with the nickname halfabluesky.

The map of Europe is made up of 44 paintings. Ukraine is represented by the picture ‘Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks to Sultan Mehmed IV of the Ottoman Empire’, also known as ‘Cossacks of Saporog Are Drafting a Manifesto’ by Ilya Repin.

The main picture of Russia is ‘Golden Autumn’ by Isaak Levitan. Belarusian painting, according to the author, is ‘The Fiddler’ by Marc Chagall.

France is represented by 'Impression, Sunrise' by Claude Monet. The main picture of Italia is of course, ‘Mona Lisa’ by Leonardo da Vinci, for Spain it’s ‘Guernica’ by Pablo Picasso, for Norway – ‘The Scream’ by Edvard Munch.

It is worth noting that Greece was not represented by a picture, but by a sculpture of the famous Venus de Milo.

Earlier it was reported that picture of Kyiv’s Arch of International Friendship reaches finals of Art of Buildings photo contest. The photo was taken by Olexandr Nesterovsky, Kyiv photographer.
