Man tossed grenade at policemen, one officer injured in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region

A man tossed a grenade at the police officers in the Dnipropetrovsk region. As a result of the explosion, one policeman was injured, the press service of the Dnipropetrovsk regional police said.

"The incident occurred on March 17 when the police team patrolled the Krynychansky district, near Volnohorsk town. The police received information about the movement of a suspicious vehicle. After stopping the driver, law enforcement officers began checking his documents, and at that moment a man threw a grenade at the police and tried to run away,” the statement reads.

It is noted that as a result of the explosion, one policeman was injured and was taken to a hospital. The partners of the victim reacted instantly and detained the attacker, using service pistols.

Earlier, the law enforcement detained the group of people, who were illegally producing and trafficking of precursor chemicals in particular great amounts in order to use them for making psychotropic substances. The press service of the Kyiv prosecutor’s office reports this on Facebook.

Thus, as a result of the search, the officers seized the equipment for producing precursors and psychotropic substances, around 4,4 kg of Phenyl-2-nitropropane, other precursors in particularly large amounts and marijuana. Besides, the police officers seized from the culprits the machine for making cartridges, more than 1,000 recycled cartridges and bullets and $63,400 obtained in an illegal way.
