Man threatens to detonate bomb in one of Kyiv’s business centers

Police are conducting a special operation at the Leonardo Business Center in Kyiv in connection with a possible hostage-taking. This was reported by 112.ua, citing a source in law enforcement agencies.

The source said that people were being evacuated from the business center after it had become known that one of the visitors might have a gun.

According to Deputy Interior Minister Anton Herashchenko, the incident occurred in a branch of JSC Universal Bank, which is located in the business center. A young man went in and said that he had a bomb in his backpack. The bank employees left the building, and the head of the branch stayed inside at his own request.

As we reported earlier, on July 23, Roman Skrypnyk, former ex-convict, took a law enforcement officer hostage in Poltava, threatening to use a hand grenade.

On August 1, police special forces eliminated Skrypnyk after finding him in unhabituated houses on the outskirts of the village of Opishnya, Zinkivsky district: officer of the KORD police special forces eliminated the terrorist with an accurate shot.
