In Poltava, a man is trying to resist an arrest by threatening police officers with a grenade. This was reported by the press service of the local National Police department.
"A special operation to detain a suspect for illegal possession of a vehicle is being carried out on Ostapa Vyshny Street. Trying to avoid responsibility, the man is resisting and threatening the police with a grenade. Negotiations are underway," the statement reads.
It is noted that explosives technicians, an investigative task force, criminal investigation officers of the regional police and the Poltava police department, as well as other special services are working at the site.
As we reported earlier, on July 21, an unknown man hijacked the suburban bus "Berestechko - Krasnylivka" and took 20 people hostage.
His actions were caused by dissatisfaction with Ukraine’s political system. Nevertheless, there were no clear demands on his part.
He eventually surrendered to the law enforcement officers, there were no victims among the hostages.
