Unknown man seized the Ukrposhta branch on Shevchenko street near the Rost shopping center in Kharkiv. Representatives of the police at the scene reported that there are people in the seized building, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

The territory near the scene of the incident is cordoned off, on the spot there are about 20 cars of patrol police, firemen and ambulance. Explosive technicians are also working on site.

The police of Kharkiv did not officially comment on the incident, refusing to confirm the very fact of the incident.

In turn, the speaker of the National Police of Ukraine Yaroslav Trakalo said that, according to preliminary information, an unidentified man seized the premises of the Ukrposhta branch, there are people inside.

"According to preliminary information, a man in the Ukrposhta postal office reported that he has attached explosives, which he is ready to use." As of 15:20, nothing is known about the requirements, "Trakalo said.
