Tourists will be able to visit the Maldives starting from July 15. This was reported by DNA India, citing a statement by the country’s president Ibrahim Solih.

Resorts and hotels located on uninhabited islands will be available to tourists from July 15, 2020. And guest houses and hotels located on inhabited islands - from August 1, 2020.

The resorts will host guests complying with all necessary safety and hygiene measures.

It is noted that international tourists do not have to undergo Covid-19 testing or provide other information. If a passenger showcases symptoms of coronavirus, he/she will need to undergo a PCR testing at his/her own expense.

As of June 24, the country reported 2,238 cases of coronavirus infection, eight of which were fatal. 1,813 patients have managed to recover.

As we reported earlier, Ukraine overstepped the boundaries set by the European Commission for the states to be admitted to the Schengen Area: the country's incidence rate in 14 days makes 26.65 cases per 100,000 people and it surpasses both criteria set by the EU.
