Lviv Mayor asks U.S. to help in organization of civil defense

Mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovyi appealed to acting United States Ambassador to Ukraine Kristina Kvien with a request for help to organize the civil defense of the city as he reported on Facebook.

“In the context of security, I have appealed with a request to help us to organize the territorial civil defense in Lviv.  The experience of the United States will be useful to provide the understanding of the security of each of us,” Sadovy wrote.

In her turn, Kristina Kvien, according to Sadovyi stated that the embassy plans to build the center of cultural exchange, the American House in Lviv.

“After it, we expect the opening of Consulate General and it would be a good step,” Lviv Mayor added.

Earlier, United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated that America continues to provide military support to Ukraine in accordance with its needs.

As we reported, Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak asked to deploy the American surface-to-air missile system MIM-104 Patriot in the territory of Ukraine.
