About 3,000 residents of Lutsk, northwestern Ukraine, gathered in the downtown city to pay tribute for the Ukrainian troops killed during the 2014 Volnovakha attack. A host of 112 Ukraine TV channel mentioned that during the news bulletin on Sunday, May 21.

‘On May 22, 2014, militants destroyed the 10th checkpoint of Ukrainian servicemen in Volnovakha, Donetsk region. 18 troops were killed; that’s the first time since the beginning of the Russian military aggression in Ukraine that the Armed Forces suffered serious casualties,’ the host said.

Among those who came to remember the fallen were their relatives, friends and comrades, as well as officials and churchmen.
